"Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance.
Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back,
and choose the path that leads to wisdom."

What is meditation?

Listen to inner voice reflecting your true nature

Meditation is a practice that leads to a state of self-awareness, also known as mindfulness. In other words, meditation is about listening to your inner, silent being or internal voice which reflects your true nature, which cannot be described in expressive or intellectual words.

Meditation has been proven to help establish and maintain balance, calmness, relaxation, clarity, and harmony of mind and body in the midst of any circumstance. Meditation carries you into a state of deep relaxation; to a place where your creative thoughts flow; where answers to problems appear; where your thoughts are focused and concentration is enhanced. Physical effects of meditation have been well-documented: your breathing slows, heart rate and blood pressure fall and your body regains its balance and begins to operate more effectively, boosting the immune system and helping to alleviate the ill effects of stress.

To listen to your inner voice, you need to open your whole being to the present, here and now, without any goals of reaching destinations or gaining something tangible. To be completely present while meditating, it is also important to maintain good posture so that you can focus on your meditation practice over any physical distractions within and around you.

In general meditation is mainly practiced in a sitting posture, where one sits with cross-legged, with a straight spine, or even in a chair. Unfortunately this sitting posture can create uncomfortable feelings and even pains before you benefit from such meditation practice. As a result, despite the importance of practicing meditation regularly, it may be difficult to stick to the practice with regularity.
